Check in times will be Friday (October 10th) at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday (October 11th) at 7:00 am to 9:30 am.

The show will start promptly at 10:00 am on October 11, 2025.

The show order will be as follows:

  • White Fine

  • White Medium

  • White Long

  • 20 minute break

  • Natural Colored Fine

  • Natural Colored Medium

  • Natural Colored Long

  • Hair Breeds

The class order will be as follows for each of the aforementioned divisions.

  • Rams - Yearlings, Falls, Early and Late Spring

  • Champion Ram

  • Ewes - Yearlings, Falls, Early and Late Spring

  • Champion Ewe

  • Pair of Lambs

  • Pen of Lambs

  • Breeders Young Flock

  • A Flock

Supreme Champion Ram and Ewe will be chosen at the conclusion of the divisions.

Only Champions from each division will be eligible to compete in the Supreme.

Champion Drive for both rams and ewes.

Entry Fees

$10 per head for PA Sheep and Wool Growers Members

$15 per head for non-members

No entry fee on group classes, but each animal in the group must be entered in its individual class.

Rules For Exhibitors

1.The PA Sheep and Wool Festival Committee has the right to accept or refuse any entries.

2. All exhibitors agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of PA Sheep and Wool Festival. The show management reserves the right to amend or add to these rules and regulations as its judgment may determine.

3. NO alcoholic beverages,firearms, drugs, dogs or pets permitted on the grounds. (Only registered service dogs are admitted and dogs entered into the herding competition) Persons using alcohol or other controlled substances will be expelled from the grounds. Minors caught drinking will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

4. Exhibitors will comply with all directions given by a PA Sheep and Wool Festival Committee Official or any police or security officer. Failure to immediately comply with the directions will cause the exhibitor to be disqualified and be prohibited from entering any future PA Sheep and Wool Festival exhibitions or shows.

5. All exhibits will be shown under the direction of the PA Sheep and Wool Festival Committee and the appointed representative or department superintendents. The PA Sheep and Wool Festival Committee reserves the right to interpret all rules and regulations governing the show and will make decisions based on interpretation of the rules as may be necessary for the proper conduct of the show. All interpretations and decisions will be final.

6. The exhibitor agrees to and shall assume all risks of injury to people and/or animals and/or damage to any property.

7. Violations of the rules or conduct contrary to the best interest of the PA Sheep and Wool Festival will not be permitted. Exhibitors or others who persist in such violations or conduct will be asked to remove their exhibits and to leave the grounds. No fees or charges will be refunded and premiums will not be paid in such cases.

8. Exhibitors are expected to display their animals as directed by the committee; accept the stall assignment without controversy; keep their animals in an attractive appearance; and cooperate in every way that may serve to increase the educational value of the show.

9. Exhibitors are required to provide their own feed and bedding (proper bedding will be listed on the festival website).

10.Exhibitors are responsible for the care of all animals including, but not limited to, the cleanliness of pens, cleanliness of animals, and providing feed and water at all times until animals are removed from the grounds. Exhibitors will be required to maintain their respective areas in a clean and orderly condition, on a daily basis, for the duration of the PA Sheep and Wool Festival.

Animal Welfare Policy

The health, safety, and humane treatment of all animals exhibited at this show are our highest priorities. Exhibitors are expected to uphold the highest standards of animal care at all times.

Zero Tolerance for Animal Abuse; Animal abuse will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Abuse includes, but is not limited to:

• Excessive or harsh handling

• Denial of food, water, or shelter

• Use of electric prods or other inhumane tools

• Beating, striking, or otherwise intentionally harming the animal

• Any action that causes unnecessary stress or injury

Animals must be provided with adequate food, clean water, shelter, and medical attention at all times. All handling and training must be done in a humane and respectful manner. Animals must be monitored regularly throughout the show. All exhibitors must treat their animals, fellow participants, and show staff with respect.

Violation Consequences

• Any exhibitor found abusing an animal will be immediately disqualified.

• The exhibitor will be removed from the fairgrounds and banned from future events.

• Abuse may be reported to animal control authorities or law enforcement as appropriate.

Reporting Concerns: Any person who witnesses or suspects animal abuse is encouraged to report it immediately to a show official or festival staff member. All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly.

Sheep Health Regulations

●  The PA Sheep and Wool festival rules and regulations are based on and complies with the 2025 Animal Health requirements and recommendations for animal exhibition, including commercial exhibition which is regulated by the PA Department of Agriculture. You may view a copy here.

●  The Certificate of Veterinary Inspection must be written for a single show to comply with federal guidelines. PA Sheep and Wool Festival, PA Shows and Fairs are both acceptable. A valid, legible CVI issued within 30 days prior to the show is mandatory.

●  ALL ANIMALS EXHIBITING IN THE PA SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL MUST HAVE A VALID USDA SCRAPIE TAG UPON CHECK IN

Individual official USDA scrapie animal identification is required. Official scrapie ID includes: A USDA ear tag with a US shield; or a legible tattoo with herd and individual identification recognized in an approved USDA Scrapie database a.k.a. a scrapie tattoo (only for flocks enrolled in the USDA Voluntary Scrapie Flock Certification Program)

●  The Livestock Committee or a designated representative is responsible for checking the health of all animals upon arrival and all Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (paper copy). Any animal displaying any evidence of transmissible diseases will be removed from the show. This is including but not limited to evidence of infectious, contagious or parasitic disease is apparent or if health certification or identification documentation is not acceptable.

●  ANY DECISION OF THE LIVESTOCK COMMITTEE OR DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE IS FINAL.

●  Animals known to be infected with any such diseases and animals restricted by quarantine may not be shown or displayed. All show animals returning home from shows should be isolated from other members of the herd or flock for 30 days to help prevent the spread of disease.

●  RABIES VACCINATION: A current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian is RECOMMENDED not required, for breeding animals 3 months of age and older.

●  Un-weaned baby lambs or those less than 60 days of age are not allowed.

●  Any surgical procedure or injection of any foreign substance or drug or the external application of any substance (irritant, counterirritant, or similar substance) which could affect the animal’s performance or alter its natural contour, conformation, or appearance, except external applications of substances to the hoofs or horns of animals which affect appearance only and except for surgical procedures performed by a duly licensed veterinarian for the sole purpose of protecting the health of the animal, is prohibited.
